Maui Fishing Charter Boats
Maui Fire Information:
The boat Hokua featured below runs from Maalaea Harbor which was not affected by the Lahaina fire of August 2023. Much of Maui is still open to visitors and boats in Maalaea Harbor are able to run trips. Local businesses are depending on visitors to come to the open parts of Maui to keep people employed. Sadly, most of the boats in Lahaina Harbor were destroyed in the fire as was the harbor facility. The boats we offered in Lahaina are gone. There is no timeline as to when the harbor in Lahaina will be operational again. Our hearts and prayers go out to all those that lost their lives, homes and businesses in Lahaina. #LahainaStrong
Maui, also known as The Valley Isle, is the second largest of the Hawaiian Islands. The charter boat harbors are in Lahaina and Maalaea, which are both located on the south facing. leeward shores. The areas off Lahaina and Maalaea stay shallower for a ways out, so the boats on Maui have to run for about 45 minutes to get to the deeper water and good offshore fishing grounds. Because of this, we usually recommend at least a 6 hour charter on Maui if you are doing an offshore trip. The shallower areas are generally protected from the prevailing tradewinds, offering a good place for inshore bottom fishing for those who prefer a more leisurely trip. Below is our selection of boats chosen by Sportfish Hawaii for their experience, quality and service (read more on how we choose our boats)
